Pro-Abort Hysteria

I’ve been away from the blog for a while! School was out and my time was spent with my family, I was way too tired to blog in the evenings. Kids are back in school and I am back to blogging!

So here is a graphic posted by a rabid pro-abort. As usual, its full of exaggeration, lies and half-truths:

Pro lifeI won’t dispute that people die every day due to gun violence. I will dispute the fact that stricter gun laws will change that. Why? Have you ever known a criminal to obey the law? Guns were not allowed on the grounds of the Naval Yard in Washington DC. Did that stop Aaron Alexis from taking a gun in?

Despite the fact that there are no gun shops in Chicago IL, they had over 500 gun related homicides in 2012.

Gun laws have not nor will they ever stop gun violence. Gun laws punish law-abiding gun owners for the sins of the criminal.

THOUSANDS of Americans die each year due to hunger? THAT one is a flat out lie.

According to the World Health Organization, 120 Americans died from “lack of food” in 2004. Starvation rates in the United States are generally not recorded due to the relative infrequency of the occurrence. Generally speaking, most people do not starve to death in America as a result of lack of access to food. A combination of government food programs and private charities help to ensure this. However, Americans do have a serious problem with malnutrition. Starvation (that is, death due to lack of food) in America, in the relatively rare instances that it does occur, is not usually an indication of poverty but rather a variety of other social issues.

Nearly 45,000 die from lack of health care? Half-truth.

The numbers come from a study done 20 years ago, and it did not state “lack of health care” as the reason. It claimed “lack of insurance”. What the study also did not state was CAUSES of the deaths. Was it due to an illness that the person should have been treated for? What about someone who was wheeled into the ER because they were struck by a car and died. Insurance wouldn’t have made a bit of difference would it? Natural causes? Insurance isn’t going to help there either.

According to the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics,  there are over 1,200 clinics all over the United States that offer free or low cost medical care to the poor and uninsured. Health care is available, but you can’t FORCE someone to go and get it.

Just once I’d like to see a pro-abort do a little homework before going off the deep end.

The Girl Scouts…My initial thoughts are of my own few years in the Scouts as a young girl. Selling cookies, earning badges, going to campouts, reading Bible stories around a camp fire, spending precious time with my mother who worked 3 jobs and yet still had time for every scouting event. Those memories are probably some of the most precious that I carry with me from my childhood.

I’m certain that for most Americans, this warm, fuzzy, sentimental reaction is pretty standard when considering the Girl Scouts. It is an organization that we trust, one that we turn our daughters to in complete faith that only good things will come of it.

Which is precisely why the conservative community is expressing such an outrage to the exposure of the once-so-innocent group’s ties to and outright support of pro-abortion organizations…

Attention Pro-Aborts

If pro-aborts want to be taken seriously by pro-lifers, here are a few suggestions:

  1. Don’t personally attack those you are debating.  Calling us ignorant, controlling, stupid, etc, will get you nowhere in a hurry.
  2. Don’t attack our Faith. Screaming at us and telling us to “get your rosaries off our ovaries” does not make a good debate starter. First off, not all pro-lifers are Catholic,  and second, some are not religious at all.
  3. Stop ignoring basic biology. It has been scientifically proven that life begins at conception. Stating that a fertilized egg is not alive is a clear indication that you are indeed ignoring this fact.
  4. Stop regurgitating pro-abort slogans and propaganda.  We’ve heard it all before and we aren’t buying it. Move on please.
  5. Stop calling us “anti-choice”.  We support all kinds of choices: The choice to use birth control The choice  to either hold down a job or stay at home with your children. Just because we simply feel that killing a child in the womb is wrong and should be illegal does not mean that we do not support other choices.

I could go on and on, but you get my point.

Wow, just wow….

This was in response to my post Women Deserve Better In 2013.

“At under 12 weeks, when over 90% of abortions are performed, there is no life. That clump of cells cannot feel pain, cannot think and certainly could not survive without the mother. There is no life to kill, so stop using such emotive language to try and bring others to your cause.

Men can legally walk away, countless cases prove that. Additionally, if you cannot force a man to be a father, why force a woman into becoming a mother just because she has the capability to carry the child?

It doesn’t surprise me that you’re part of the “don’t want kids, don’t have sex” brigade. How many times have you had sex in your lifetime? Has every single time been in the hope of procreating?

It’s not about being mentally capable of “handling” the consequences. Having an abortion would be the most responsible choice for someone in my position. The foster system in the UK and US are so woefully overcrowded that putting another child to languish in the system is not fair. Again, can’t force a woman to be a mother.

Our bodies were not designed, by the way. Humans have evolved, proven fact. Though I guess it wouldn’t be surprising if you’re a creationist either.

There is plenty of logic in my statement. My having an abortion is nothing like child abuse (see aforementioned literal ball of cells which cannot think, cannot feel pain and by all biological criteria is not really alive), and trying to pretend it does shows a severe lack of understanding of both abortion and child abuse. Another woman choosing to have an abortion does not affect you, it’s a choice she has taken seriously to not bring a child into the world that she does not want and therefore could/would not look after. I have friends who want children later in life and would abort now as they are in the middle of advanced degrees, their choice to have children does not affect my life in any way, so how exactly does a woman’s abortion directly affect your own life? Do you have to be in the room when the procedure happens? Don’t think so.

Abstinence doesn’t work as a policy, by the way. I run a female support forum, and when children who are the product of abstinence education crop up – they are utterly unprepared for a sexual relationship. They are not educated about safe sex, they are not educated about proper consent. Also, rates of underage pregnancies in places where sex education is abstinence only are much higher than those with progressive education policies.

Get a clue.”

Seriously, this little girl is the one that needs a clue. Anyone care to enlighten her? She doesn’t seem to want to listen to me, but then again most children do not listen to their elders.

Myself, Bristol Palin And The Abstinence Message

lately I’ve been accused of being a hypocrite by the pro-abort trolls that can’t seem to keep their noses out of other people’s business.

I’m a hypocrite because I advocate for abstinence even though I myself have had a child out of wedlock.

My answer to that is: So what?

Why can’t I be an advocate for abstinence? Should I stand by and let others make the same mistake I did?  I don’t think so. People make mistakes. No one is perfect. I’ve never said that I was and I never will. I made a mistake. I learned from it and with that experience its my duty to teach others.

Bristol Palin feels the same way. She became an abstinence ambassador for the Candies Foundation after giving birth to her son Tripp.She’s using her experience as an example of what not to do. I think its admirable of her to use her experience to help prevent other teens from getting pregnant. There is a great interview with her  on the Christianity Today web site.

I understand that abstinence is not for everyone. I don’t expect every teen out there to practice it. I will however continue to advocate for it, as it is the ONLY 100% effective way to prevent pregnancy. That is what I intend to teach my daughters as well. If one slips up and ends up pregnant, they will have my full support. I can’t judge them because I’ve been there myself.

If some hear the message and decide its the way they want to go, good  for them. If they don’t, I can’t force them to, but at least I have put that information out there for them instead of sitting idly by while teens are getting pregnant and turning to abortion as a solution. Two wrongs don’t make it right.

They Said What??

I have another pro-abort gem for you: “Consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy.”

What???

What kind of logic is that? Everyone knows that sex can lead to pregnancy. How can someone consent to the act and think that it isn’t consent to the consequences? This statement is more proof of how pro-aborts do not think that people need to take responsibility for their actions. Its failed logic, but then pro-abort logic usually is.

Apply that logic to other scenarios, and you can see how ludicrous it is:

“Consent to eating sweets is not consent to gain weight.”

“Consent to smoking is not consent to develop lung cancer.”

“Consent to tanning is not consent to develop skin cancer.”

“Consent to drinking alcohol is not consent to liver damage.”

“Consent to abusing drugs is not consent to brain damage.”

Anyone presented with the above would agree that each of these actions could result in the corresponding consequence. So why is sexual relations exempt?

Question for pro-aborts: Does this also mean that consent to sex makes someone exempt from the consequence of contracting a STD?

Doesn’t make sense does it? Neither does your argument about pregnancy.

 

 

 

My “LOL” Of The Day: Opposing Abortion = Wanting To Control Women

I posted this graphic today that naturally cause the pro-abort to blow yet another blood vessel:

blood vesselHow does opposing abortion and same-sex marriage controlling anyone? If by opposing certain aspects of society is controlling, then I feel that liberals are more “controlling” than any conservative I have ever met.

I’m still trying to figure out how it makes me a racist.

If you want examples of controlling women and gays, take a look at the Muslims. That’s controlling. Yet you don’t see the liberal pro-aborts calling them out. Nope. I pointed out this fact to them once, and was immediately accused of hating Muslims.

Liberals want to control everything. They want to control your healthcare, your child’s education, your right to own a gun, the type of food you eat and the size of soft drink you can buy. They want to force us to violate our religion by forcing religious institutions to provide coverage for abortions and abortifacient drugs. The list goes on and on, but you get the drift.

Opposing abortion and gay marriage is not controlling anyone with religion. Its standing up for Morality, plain and simple.
